Hi Sewists!

I’ve really been looking forward to sharing this make with you. *The fabric was sent to me free from Minerva Crafts – in exchange for a review which you can read On the Minerva blog… there’s a link further down too…

I received it before Christmas but took a little while to get around to sewing something up with it. It took booking a holiday to the sun to give me the motivation – and once I started sewing with it, I clearly couldn’t stop! Three pieces in all, using up pretty much every scrap of the 3m I was sent.

Admittedly, it’s a bit punchy all in one go, but it meant I didn’t get lost in the labyrinth of Luxor’s markets!

You can check out the full details here #TheHolidayTrinity where I also explain what patterns I used as well as a few shirt-construction tips.

The Holiday was back in February (hopefully not the last one I’ll have now that I am self employed!) and I was so grateful to have been able to leave the winter behind for a week of sunshine & sightseeing. Luxor was incredible – I’ve wanted to visit the Valley of the Kings since I was a little boy! It’s funny though, when you’re a sewist, no matter how great a holiday you’ve had, going home isn’t so tough as you know you’ll be pleased to see your sewing machine again! I’ve got a few projects in mind that will take a bit of concentration, so I’m hoping to get some time to knuckle down on those soon.

Until next time, Happy Sewing!

Notes to self:

  • Maybe I should practice some outfit modelling poses?! 🤣
